PAGASA DECLARES START OF RAINY SEASON IN THE PHILIPPINES

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has officially declared the start of the rainy season in the Philippines.

According to PAGASA, some parts of the country, particularly the Ilocos region and Zambales, will barely experience the southwest monsoon, or habagat.

The weather bureau predicts an increase in rain during the afternoon, evening, and early morning or also know as early morning rain showers.

PAGASA advises the public to always carry an umbrella or any rain protection.

PAGASA also warns that other areas, particularly parts of the Visayas, may experience thunderstorms or isolated rain showers.

After the exit of Typhoon Aghon, (with an internationally:  Ewiniar) in Philippine Area of Responsibility, no more typhoons are expected to enter the country in May. However, one or two typhoons may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the month of June.
