PBBM, SET TO VISIT BRUNEI DARUSSALAM NEXT WEEK

Manila Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is scheduled to visit Brunei Darussalam next week, this will be his first-ever state visit to the Sultanate. 

The President is expected to have bilateral meetings with Bruneian officials, to strengthen bilateral relations between the Philippines and Brunei.

Marcos’ visit to Brunei is scheduled for May 28 to May 29, following the invitation of the Sultan who is the head of Brunei Darussalam.

“While in Brunei, the President will be meeting with His Majesty, the Sultan, who is also Sultan Head of State of Brunei Darussalam. The President will also meet with the Filipino community where he will highlight the contribution of more than 25,000 Filipinos currently residing in Brunei,” according to Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Ambassador Ma. Teresita Daza at the Malacañang Palace press briefing.

Marcos’ visit to Brunei, symbolizes the 40th year of bilateral relations between the two countries that were established in 1984.

Agreements between the Philippines and Brunei are also expected to be signed during Marcos’ visit.

These agreements are related to the agriculture sector, maritime cooperation, tourism and many others.
