Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed trust that former Department of Public Works and Highways secretary Manuel Bonoan will speak only of the truth in the flood control scandal investigation.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Palace Press Officer and Undersecretary Claire Castro said that the President is still highly confident that Bonoan will be honest with his participation in the senate’s investigation.
On sunday, Bonoan returned to the Philippines to attend and face the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee as it continues its probe over anomalous flood control projects in the country.
During the hearing, Bonoan addressed Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson’s allegation over submitting wrong grid coordinates or project locations to the President.
Bonoan however clarified that as soon as he knew the differences in coordinates, he had told the President about it, clarifying as well that only the ghost flood control projects in Bulacan were submitted to the President.
When asked about this, the Malacañang Palace said that they will first verify the claims before releasing an official statement.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
