MANILA PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Coast Guard particularly Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) has launched Task Force Ingat Yamang Dagat in Panacan, Davao City, on 05 July 2024.
The (PCG)’s National Operations Center for Oil Pollution (NOCOP) Director, CG Commodore Glenda Pereyra, presided over the ceremony, followed by a comprehensive oil spill response simulation exercise with BRP Tubbataha (MRRV-4401).
The said the activity simulated a realistic oil spill scenario that required immediate and coordinated response efforts to mitigate marine environmental damage.
The officials from different unit of coast guards delivered an insightful message to various stakeholders,
media and key participants, emphasizing the importance shared efforts in environmental consciousness and conservation.
Following the said event, a comprehensive Oil Spill Response Simulation Exercise was conducted and witnessed by event participants aboard BRP Tubbataha (MRRV-4401).
The successful event underscores the dedication and collaboration of various agencies and stakeholders in protecting and preserving marine resources in Southeastern Mindanao.
