PH CONSULATE IN HONG KONG: 92 FILIPINOS ARE SAFE, ONE INJURED, ONE REMAINS AT HOSPITAL

Manila, Philippines – The rest of Filipinos that are likely working in the high-rise complex that was hit by fire in Tai Po, Hong Kong are safe, says the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, Tuesday.

According to the Consul General, 92 Filipinos are safe while one was injured and the other is still recovering in the hospital. 

It was found out that the two remaining Filipinos, who were said to be under verification, were identified before the fire broke out.

One was previously reported dead in the fire, identified by authorities as Mayran Pascual Estaban, a resident of Cainta Rizal, who was scheduled to return to the Philippines this Christmas. 

The death toll from the Hong Kong’s considered as the deadliest fire, over the decades, have killed 146, while dozens remain missing. 

Meanwhile, the local government of Cainta has granted financial support to Estaban’s orphaned 10-year-old son.—Alvin Pelobello, Eurotv News
