PH MEN’S CURLING TEAM BAGS 1ST GOLD IN ASIAN WINTER GAMES

Harbin, China — The Philippine Men’s Curling team gives the country a great Valentine’s gift as it wins PH’s first ever gold from the Asian Winter Games.

During the 9th Asian Winter Games at Harbin, China, Curling Pilipinas team did not quiver against the South Korean team who is a dominant force in the sports, bagging the gold medal with a final score, 5-3.

Men’s Curling Team consisting Marc Angelo Pfister, Alan Beat Frei, Christian Patrick Haller, Enrico Gabriel Pfister, and Benjo Delarmente stepped into the game with only one thing in mind—bring home the gold medal.

And the team did not disappoint, making history as they give the Philippines not only its first ever gold in the tournament, but ist first ever medal from any edition of the Asian Winter Games.

Following this triumph, the team is eyeing to participate in the Winter Olympics next year.

South Korea finished with silver, while host country China places third in the competition.
