Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered that government projects implemented within a locality must first undergo review and approval by the concerned Local Government Units (LGUs) before the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) can release payment.
The President emphasized that this directive is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in the implementation of public projects.
The measure aims to ensure that a project is properly completed, acceptable to the LGU, and meets required standards before it is funded or paid for by the national government.
It is expected that this directive will enhance LGU participation in infrastructure project implementation and help prevent corruption or faulty execution of government projects across the country.
