Manila, Philippines – Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a reminder to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers who were not included in the initial list of beneficiaries for the government’s cash relief assistance.
According to the agency, drivers who are not on the official list will still receive aid, as they will be accommodated in a “special payout day” to be implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The LTFRB advised affected drivers to coordinate with their respective transport network companies (TNCs) or operators to ensure that their names are included in the updated list to be submitted to the government.
Meanwhile, the LTFRB also directed all TNCs to include all their onboard drivers in their submissions whether active or inactive. This includes drivers with incomplete documents such as a Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC), Provisional Authority (PA), or even those holding temporary permits.
The measure aims to ensure that no PUV driver is left out of the government’s cash relief assistance program.
The public is encouraged to stay tuned for further announcements from the LTFRB and DSWD regarding the official list of beneficiaries and the schedule for the distribution of assistance.
