QCPD NABS TWO ROBBERY SUSPECTS; RECOVERS STOLEN GADGETS AND ILLEGAL FIREARM 

QUEZON CITY, Philippines  — Two robbery suspects were arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) after trespassing at the Saint Benedict Chapel in Paradise Village, Brgy. Sangandaan around 3:00 AM, June 23.

The suspects, known as “Ron Ron,” 23, from Brgy. Bahay Toro, and “Pod Angelo,” 22, from Brgy. Baesa, allegedly broke into a room while the victim pretended to be asleep out of fear. They stole a laptop amounting to Php 40,000 and a cellphone worth Php 24,000.

The victim promptly reported the incident to barangay officials, who coordinated with Talipapa Police Station 3. Led by Station Commander PLTCOL Bryan Pajarillo, police arrested alias “Ron Ron” on June 24 at around 2:00 PM after a short chase. This led to the arrest of his accomplice, alias “Angelo.”

Police recovered the stolen items and an illegal improvised firearm, locally known as ‘sumpak,’ with 9mm live ammunition from Ron Ron. Records also showed he had previous robbery and theft cases.

The suspects now face charges of robbery and violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act). The case has been filed at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

In a statement, PCOL Silvio assured the public of QCPD’s commitment to rapid responses against criminal activity.

“Ang QCPD ay hindi magdadalawang-isip na rumesponde sa anumang insidente. Kaya’t huwag kayong mag-atubiling lumapit sa amin o tumawag sa 911 o QC Helpline 122 para sa mabilis at maagap na serbisyong pampubliko,” he said.
