Manila, Philippines – The Rain or Shine ElastoPainters were on the brink of elimination against TNT Tropang 5G coming up to game six, last night.
Calean Tiongson of the ElastoPainters are aggressive and determined to force this series to a game seven — where it’s anyone’s ball game.
In fact, he posed as a threat towards TNT, as he was the trump card of Rain or Shine.
He was lights out from deep, hitting 3-4 three-pointers. He was efficient — producing a remarkable 30 points with 66% in the field.
It was not enough for him to carry the whole load of the team, as the rookie point guard Adrian Nocum fouled out during crucial moments in the fourth quarter.
Nocum only had 11 points. However, he was deeply missed when he’s on the sideline and wasn’t able to play anymore.
With his absence, Jordan Heading of the Tropang 5G erupted in the final quarter, leaving the ElastoPainters in the dust as no one could manage to lock him down.
With his swiftiness and crafty footwork, he had a tremendous 29 points.
The game progressed and were neck-and-neck, but it was the TNT Tropang 5G who claimed the victory.
The victory of TNT is all about teamwork — each player had its own time to shine in the game.
Glenn Khobuntin, Calvin Oftana, Brandon Ganuelas Rosser, Kim Aurin had their assistance felt alongside Heading. They had 16, 12, 17, and 13 points.
The final score of the game — 97 – 89.
The TNT tropang 5G is now on their way to the finals and competing for the Grand Slam, as they’ve already won two conferences this season.
They will wait for the winner in the semi-finals series of Barangay Ginebra vs. San Miguel Beermen that will hold a game seven this Wednesday. —Kyle Basa, Contributor
