REPATRIATION OF RESCUED CHINESE WORKERS IN MYANMAR SCAM CENTERS BEGINS

Tak province, Thailand — The repatriation of over a thousand Chinese workers started on Thursday, made possible by the coordinated efforts of three countries.

These Chinese workers were those that were rescued from the online scam centers in Myanmar, and were taken to Thailand for chartered flights back to China.

Over the past months, the three Asian countries have been working closely together to shut down scam centers that have victimized people all around the globe.

Aside from Myanmar, reports said that Southeast Asians were also recruited in Cambodia and Laos with a promise of a job but is a trap for virtual slavery.

In line with the repatriation, 16 flights, with four a day, have been scheduled for the Chinese nationals, and accompanied by police.

Rescued workers are taken in batches of 50 across a bridge from Myanmar to Thailand, and processed to the airport.

10,000 individuals may be repatriated from Myanmar, all rescued from the shut down online scam centers.
