RUSSIA, UKRAINE TRADE ATTACKS EARLY THIS WEEK

Kyiv/Moscow – Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange attacks early this week, making tensions between the two fronts still intensify.

Early today, Russian forces launched a series of drone and missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

According to the head of the nation’s military administration, the attack triggered fires in at least two high residential buildings after Moscow’s drones and missiles struck at midnight.

This resulted in the death of six people and thirteen injured as per the Ukraine’s state emergency service.

Kyiv also confirmed power and water disruptions across parts of the city.

On the same day, Kyiv also launched its own drone strikes targeting Moscow’s port cities.

According to the Krasnodar regional government, at least six people were injured in Kyiv successive attacks that damaged five residential high-rises and two private homes across several districts in the southern part of the region.

Meanwhile, in the northward port city of Taganrog, the strikes killed one person and wounded three others.

It damaged two each of the residential buildings and industrial enterprises among others there.

In a recent social media post, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the public should be aware that Moscow will not ease their pressure on Kyiv.

“We must be cognizant that Russia will not ease its pressure on Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wrote.

He added that these strikes should be taken very seriously and vowed to react. He said: “In these days and weeks, it is essential to take air raid alerts and all similar strike threats very seriously…We will react.”

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said that a proposed peace plan has now been under discussion with the United States and Europe.
