Russia and Ukraine traded fresh attacks over this week, targeting each other’s infrastructure as the war between the two countries continued.
In southern Ukraine, two people were killed and three others were injured over the weekend after a Russian drone strike hit a parking area overnight, according to the State Emergency System of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in the southeastern part of the country, around 60,000 residents lost power after a wave of missile and drone attacks damaged parts of the power grid.
Kyiv said blackouts were experienced in four areas because of the impact.
According to international reports, these strikes are part of Moscow’s broader effort to cripple Kyiv’s power system ahead of the winter season.
A tactic Moscow has used repeatedly to weaken public morale and pressure Kyiv’s government.
On the other hand, Moscow reported that Kyiv drones wiped a key oil refinery in southern Russia yesterday at midnight.
According to the Associated Press, Ukraine has targeted key sites in Russia to weaken Moscow’s war campaign at economy, nearly four years since the invasion began.
Meanwhile, there were no reported casualties.
