After her memorable stint on “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” award-winning actress Sharon Cuneta is making a highly anticipated return to ABS-CBN for a “soon-to-be-revealed” project with Dreamscape Entertainment.
“You know naman my favorite memories are with ‘Probinsyano’. My heart is so excited. It’s been excitement, joy, na-overwhelm ako. Natutuwa ako, kinikilig ako. I’m very very excited to work with the people I’m going to work with,” she shared.
Cuneta expressed that her TV comeback would have been even more joyous if the late, great Deo Endrinal was still present.
“What pains me lang is Deo is not around anymore, because Dreamscape was so good to me. Coco (Martin) made a perfect experience for me in ‘Probinsyano,’” she added.
A Warm Welcome from ABS-CBN
ABS-CBN chief operating officer for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, and executives from Dreamscape Entertainment, along with the staff of the upcoming show, warmly welcomed Cuneta as she arrived at the VIP lobby entrance of the ELJ Building.
“Pagpasok ko nakita ko yung ‘We missed you!’, na-overwhelm ako, ‘yung heart napa-mmm, I don’t want to be anywhere else but home,” she expressed.
Cuneta highlighted how the Kapamilya Network has continuously valued her talent.
“(ABS-CBN) is such a big part of my own personal and professional history. Feeling ko, kahit papaano I’ve been a little part of the history of ABS-CBN. Kahit wala na ako, pagdating ng araw, my grandchildren they’re gonna know that,” she noted.
Family Time and Preparing for Changes
Cuneta recently returned from a long vacation in Europe with her daughter Miel. This trip was a planned send-off as Miel is set to leave for New York City for university studies. Miel will be reunited with her sister Frankie, who is already in New York completing her tertiary studies.
“Itong August, derecho na kaming New York para ihatid siya. Kung hindi nagka-COVID, graduate na dapat si Frankie this year. So mawawala ‘yung dalawang babies ko,” she said.
When asked if she is mentally and emotionally prepared for this transition, Cuneta shared her thoughts.
“I went through it with KC (Concepcion), I went through it with Frankie. I think mahirap lang kasi magkasunod ito. Last night I was telling Miguel during dinner, sabi ko ‘oh paps when your ate leaves, it’s gonna be you and me and dad.’ Sabi niya, ‘Wow free cars,’” she recounted.
She added: “You will never be prepared. Kahit maghanda, Hindi ka talaga makakapag handa. Hindi ka aabot sa point na ‘yun kasi una mahirap tanggapin na ‘bakit ang bilis nilang lumaki?’ Parang dumaan lang ‘yung 20 na si Miel, si Frankie mag-twe-24 na, tapos si Miguel, parang kahapon lang nag-13th birthday lang.”
Reflecting on the rapid growth of her children, Cuneta said, “I don’t mind getting old, I think I mind that my children are growing up. And they’ve grown up so fast.”
