‘Six’ Cast Praises Filipino Audience for Enthusiasm and Passion

MANILA, Philippines — The cast of Six the Musical’s Philippine run has been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from Filipino audiences, describing it as true validation for performers and art lovers alike.

The award-winning production is a modern, pop-infused retelling of the lives of King Henry VIII’s six wives — Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr — giving each queen the chance to reclaim her story.

Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the musical transforms the historical figures into powerful pop stars, drawing inspiration from modern icons like Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Adele, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and others.

The Philippine cast features Billie Kerr as Catherine of Aragon, Filipino-American Yna Tresvalles as Anne Boleyn, Liberty Stottor as Jane Seymour, Hannah Victoria as Anna of Cleves, Lizzie Emery as Katherine Howard, and Eloise Lord as Catherine Parr.

During the October 9 media call, Tresvalles shared that this was her first visit back to the Philippines since before the pandemic.

The Filipino-American actress described her return as a heartwarming homecoming, excited to spend time with family and for her grandmother to see her perform.

By that time, the show had already completed five performances since its October 5 opening, giving the cast a chance to experience the dynamic energy of Filipino audiences.

Kerr noted that Filipinos “do not hold back” in expressing their emotions, which means a lot to performers like her. “You can feel all the love in the room,” she said.

Victoria added that such passionate energy enhances their performance, with the Philippine opening night becoming a “core memory” for the entire cast.

As the Filipino in the group, Tresvalles echoed the gratitude of her castmates. “It’s been incredible to witness such warm reception, just like the weather here. Never change — that sense of humor, volume, and support is so appreciated.

They have no idea how much it means to us, especially being so far from home,” she said. “They lift us to a higher plane.”

Six the Musical is playing at the Theatre at Solaire for a limited run until October 20.
