Manila, Philippines – Good news for SSS pensioners.
The completion of the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) requirement is expected to be easier and faster with the newly launched facial authentication system of Social Security System.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Joseph M. de Claro said that this new system uses biometric liveness checks to ensure an easier online verification process for pensioners.
To enable this, pensioners will not be needing to log-in with their My.SSS accounts.
Instead, they will have to access the ACOP icon in the SSS’ website homepage where they will see the guideline for the facial scan and biometric verification process.
The verification process will only take a minute, required to secure the lives of the pensioner towards uninterrupted pension payments and avoid any fraudulent activities.
The facial authentication feature is available for pensioners registered in the National ID system (PhilSys) including retirement pensioners 80 and above residing in the Philippines and abroad, as well as survivorship/death pensioners.
The feature can be accessed through any camera-enabled device, but if there are no compatible devices, pensioners can go to SSS branches’ E-centers for assistance.
Traditional options like in person visits and scheduled video appointments for ACOP requirement compliance remain available.–Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
