Manila, Philippines – Amid the investigation into the anomalous flood control project, local governments have also been affected, with Filipinos assuming that public servants are involved in corruptions.
This is according to Quezon City 2nd District Councilor Rannie Ludovica, allegedly because of the multi-billion pesos corruption under the project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
But in the midst of rampant corruption, Ludovica believes that a credible leader who will stand for the Filipinos is needed.
He said that those involved and those behind the corruption in the flood control projects should be held accountable as soon as possible because Filipinos affected by the widespread flooding in the country continue to suffer.
The lower house of Congress has already conducted a separate investigation, on Tuesday, the hearing on the anomalous flood control project.
House Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Teachers Partylist Representative Antonio Tinio has revealed, on Friday the alleged duplicate flood control projects in 2025.
According to the bill, the duplicate budget will cost one billion pesos.
The Makabayan Bloc, on the other hand, defended the protests that took place outside the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City and at the Discaya’s compound in Pasig.
According to the group, this is a reflection of people’s anger against the ongoing plunder on the country’s resources.
