SUSPECT IN OFW DAFNIE NACALABAN’S DEATH CONFESSES CRIME — DMW

Kuwait, Middle East — The Kuwaiti national who was the prime suspect in the killing of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in late 2024 already confessed to the crime, says Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

In a news forum on January 18, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac revealed that their office have received reports that the prime suspect on the said case has already admitted being the perpetuator on the OFW’s death.

It can be recalled that on December 31, 2024, already decomposing remains of OFW Dafnie Nacalaban were found buried in the backyard of the suspect.

Nacalaban’s remains and the buried crime was revealed after the sibling of the suspect reported the case and turned him over to the authorities.

Wala masyadong detalye pa kasi kaya inaantay natin yung report. We still don’t know those particular matters. May iba-ibang stories on the background of the prime suspect so we will await the police report,” Cacdac said.

As of the latest reports, Kuwaiti authorities have detained the prime suspect, along with his wife, father, and younger sibling.

Nacalaban, who have been working in Kuwait for five years, was the latest case of brutal killings of OFWs in the said country.

Following these incidents, the Philippine government is now looking into the possibility of banning deployment of Filipino workers in the said country.
