Manila Philippines — Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has extended visa-free entry for Filipinos until July 2025.
In a statement, MOFA’s Bureau of Consular Affairs said that the trial visa-free entry program for tourists from the Philippines, Thailand and Brunei will be extended for another year.
After evaluating the effectiveness of the above measures over the past years, participating agencies decided to extend the trial visa-free entry program for one year for nationals of Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines from August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025,” according to MOFA’s statement on their website.
Part of what was discussed at the MOFA meeting was promoting the New Southbound Policy (NSP) and improving the visa regulation of NSP partner countries that want to visit Taiwan.

It is said that the Taiwanese government is also continuing to study to improve their visa policy, including strengthening bilateral exchanges abroad and attracting more tourists.
Filipinos are allowed to travel to Taiwan visa free for 14 days. This policy was first implemented in Taiwan in November 2017.
