Creamline Cool Smashers successfully defended their title as the 8th Premier Volleyball League (PVL) champions.
As the 23, 616 fans gathered at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and as thousands of fans who watched online to witness how the Cool Smashers conquered the fire brought by the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Sunday night.
In spite of the seesawing campaign, Creamline closed the 2024 All-Filipino Conference by defeating Choco Mucho on the scores 20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The power spiker of Creamline, Jema Galanza, dominated the court as she never backed down on getting scores for her team.
Following an exchange of wins in the first four sets, the Cool Smashers took a 5-2 lead in the final set due to back-to-back hits from Tots Carlos.
The Cool Smashers took a 6-2 lead, but Choco Mucho tied the game at 18. Carlos responded with a strong hit, but Tubino reduced the lead to one. Cherry Nunag attacked, but Pons’ hit put them ahead by two. Pons’ block on Isa Molde propelled them to the championship point, and a Bea De Leon drop sealed the game.
Jema Galanza won the finals mvp of this match. She was also named as one of the best outside spikers of the conference in the Premier Team.
Joining her is Petro Gazz star Brooke Van Sickle was announced as the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Most Valuable Player of the 2024 All-Filipino Conference, Kyle Negrito (Creamline) as Best Setter, Sisi Rondina (Choco Mucho) as Best Outside Spikers, Pangs Panaga (Creamline) and Maddie Madayag (Choco Mucho) as Best Middle Blockers, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas (Petro Gazz) as Best Opposite Spiker, and Thang Ponce (Choco Mucho) as Best Libero.
