TRB KICKS OFF SCTEX TOLL FEE COLLECTION HIKE

Manila, Philippines – The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) implemented the third and final tranche of toll rate adjustments for the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), which was originally scheduled for 2021 and 2023.

This adjustment was part of the approved 2020/2022 petition for periodic toll rate adjustments in SCTEX.

The toll hike began yesterday (September. 9, 2025) with a Php 0.64 per kilometer for class 1 vehicles or cars and PUVs. An increase of Php 1.29 per kilometer  was made for class 2 vehicles or buses and small trucks. For class 3 vehicles or big trucks and trailers, an additional Php 1.93 pesos has been implemented.

The additional fees were initially agreed upon by the TRB, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), and North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation as part of the toll hike plan. It is a three-tranche adjustment planned to be made for over three years to lessen the impact on motorists.

Additionally, for motorists with class 1 vehicles traveling from Mabalacat City (Mabiga Interchange) to Tarlac, an additional Php 25 fee has been imposed.

In the same route, class 2 vehicles are to be charged an additional Php 51, while class 3 vehicles will be charged an additional Php 75.

Meanwhile, for motorists traveling between Mabalacat City and Tipo, Hermosa, and Bataan, there is an additional charge of Php 40 for class 1 vehicles, Php 80 for class 2 vehicles, and Php 121 for class 3 vehicles.

For those traveling the entire SCTEX stretch from Tipo to Tarlac, an additional Php 66 for class 1 vehicles, Php 131 for class 2 vehicles, and Php 197 for class 3 vehicles is imposed.

NLEX Corporation also announced on their Facebook page a report on infrastructure and enhancement projects in SCTEX over the past few years, providing additional context to the toll hike.
