UAAP: Quiambao Leads La Salle in Dominant Victory Over Adamson

MANILA — De La Salle University secured its second consecutive win in UAAP Season 87, defeating Adamson University 82-52 in their men’s basketball matchup on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City.

Reigning MVP Kevin Quiambao showcased his skills once again, delivering 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in just 25 minutes. His performance proved instrumental in fending off the opposition.

Rookie Doys Dungo also shined, finishing with 15 points, including five out of six successful three-point attempts. Henry Agunanne contributed with an 11-point, 16-rebound effort for La Salle.

The Taft-based squad took control early, starting with a 20-6 lead, with Quiambao outscoring Adamson 7-6 in the first quarter alone. La Salle’s lead ballooned to 27 points at 64-37 early in the third, and reached its peak at 30 after a late-game three-pointer by Matthew Rubico.

La Salle now prepares to face archrival Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday, September 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay.

Adamson, currently 1-1, will look to bounce back against the University of Santo Tomas at the same venue on the same day at 3:30 p.m. Ced Manzano led Adamson’s efforts with 15 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
