US OKs SALE OF OVER $7.4-B MORE WEAPONS TO ISRAEL

Washington, USA — The United States has authorized the sale of more than $7.4 billion worth of weapons to Israel.

In a statement, US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said that the state department has signed off on the sale of bombs, missiles, and related equipment to Israel.

Among these are the $6.75 billion in bombs, guidance kits and fuses, in addition to the $660 million in Hellfire missiles.

DSCA said that the proposed sale of bombs is aimed at improving Israel’s capability to address present and future threats, strengthen its homeland defense, and a barrier to regional threats.

The state department noted that while the sale of bombs and missiles were approved, transactions still need to be approved by the Congress.

Israel have used American-made and supplied weapons during their offensive move launched in Gaza in response to the rebel group Hamas.

Then President Joe Biden blocked the shipment of 2000lb bombs to Israel, but Trump is said to have approved the shipment as soon as he took office.
