Manila Philippines – Some major establishments in Tehran are back in operation, after Iran and Israel agreed on a ceasefire.
This was announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs, following the ceasefire agreed upon by Tel Aviv and Tehran.
However, the government’s repatriation program for Filipinos who requested to be evacuated amid the war in the Middle East continues.
In fact, the government is expecting the arrival of the next batches of repatriates from Jordan, Israel, Iran and Lebanon.
Some Filipinos also makes return to their jobs.
Although the ceasefire in the Middle East is still in effect, the government is still studying the possibility to lower the alert level situation in countries in the Middle East, particularly in Iran and Israel, to alert level 2.
This should make an effects depending on the assessment of the Philippine embassies in Tel Aviv.
DFA official said there is no need for pressure for the entry of humanitarian aid into the said countries.
Instead, the Philippines’ position remains that the conflict must be resolved through peaceful means.
The DFA hopes for peace in the Middle East for the safety and welfare of the over 2.1 million Filipinos in the region.
And hopes that the implementation of the ceasefire in the Middle East will continue. — Alvin Pelobello, Eurotv News
