VP SARA CITES LOOMING IMPEACHMENT COMPLAINT AS ‘FUNDRAISING’ SCHEME AMONG LAWMAKERS

Manila, Philippines – There are still over two weeks before the one year ban period in filing an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte expires on February 6, 2026.

This is in line with the Supreme Court’s decision, declaring the fourth impeachment complaint as unconstitutional over violation of due process and the one year bar period.

Despite this, plans on refiling of impeachment complaint against her have been circulating since early this year.

But for VP Sara herself, it has been totally obvious that there are plans to try for her impeachment.

She cited this looming impeachment complaint as another alleged fundraising stint within the House of Representatives.

This is in line with her previous allegations that the 215 lawmakers who signed the fourth impeachment complaint received merits and cash.

The allegations were denied by the members of the House’s prosecution panel.

On the other hand, Duterte refused to give lengthy comments regarding the first impeachment complaint filed against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

On Monday, an impeachment complaint against Marcos was filed before the House of Representatives over grounds of the flood control corruption scandal, arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, as well as the alleged drug addiction of PBBM.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
