YOUNGEST NBA MVP DERRICK ROSE, SCHEDULED TO RETURN IN THE PHILIPPINES THIS SEPTEMBER

Derrick Rose, the youngest player to win an NBA MVP, is scheduled to be back in the Philippines on September 18, 2025.

The exact venue for Rose’s return is still to be announced, but it will certainly happen in Manila.

It was also posted on Arena Plus PH’s Instagram post with the hashtag #RoseAboveTheOdds.

Rose first visited Manila, Philippines, in 2011 with other NBA stars, followed by his next visit on September 13.

His official retirement from his 16-year NBA career was announced on September 26, 2024.

He has played for teams Memphis Grizzlies, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Chicago Bulls.

His return to the country will serve as a prelude to an even bigger celebration since the Chicago Bulls have already scheduled to retire Rose’s Jersey Number, No.1, on January 24, 2026, to recognize his contributions to the franchise and the entire League.—Chandra Salayog, Contributor
