MANILA, Philippines — Starting October 15, YouTube will extend the maximum duration of its Shorts feature from one minute to three minutes, a move highly anticipated by content creators.
This update aims to provide more flexibility for creators to craft longer and more engaging videos. In addition, YouTube will introduce new features to enhance creativity within the platform’s Shorts format.
Users will gain easier access to various YouTube clips directly from the Shorts camera, alongside the introduction of templates designed to streamline the creation process. A new Trends page will also be added to help users stay updated.
Furthermore, YouTube will introduce an option for users to “Show fewer Shorts” on the streamlined player, allowing them to tailor the content that appears on their feed according to their preferences.
