Senator Win Gatchalian was elected as the new Senate President Pro Tempore following a proper quorum in the Senate, June 3, 2026.
This happened after majority Senator Chiz Escudero appeared at the plenary hall, making the attendance of the institution to 12.
Following to this, he was also served as the Acting Senate President, replacing Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, whom together with other majority Senators were still absent for three consecutive days.
Meanwhile, Senate committee shakeups were also uphold.
According to new Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Erwin Tulfo, 13 Senators were required to fully elect a new Senate President.
The Senate session for the 20th Congress was adjourned sine die after the event.
