MANILA — Four Filipino crew members from a vessel attacked by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea earlier this month have safely returned to the Philippines, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced on Monday.
According to the DMW’s statement, the crewmen from the M/V Minoan Courage arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Sunday.
This group is the second batch of 21 Filipino seafarers being repatriated after their ship was attacked by Houthi rebels while navigating the Red Sea on October 1.
The first batch of seven seafarers arrived in the Philippines on October 9, while the remaining 10 are expected to be repatriated soon.
The returning crew members will receive assistance from the DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and will undergo psychiatric evaluations.
