PBBM ASSURES ENOUGH FOOD SUPPLY, STABLE PRICES OF GOODS AMID MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT

Manila, Philippines – Amid the concerns over food suply and prices, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured the publi that the supply is sufficient and the prices will not move.

On Friday, Marcos said that there is still no need to worry over food supply as it remains enough and stable.

He added that food manufacturers have agreed to retain the prices of basic necessities until the next month or two.

Marcos likewise noted that the government will continue monitoring global trends in supply and prices to ensure that this will not be a burden yet for Filipino citiens.

With the on going tension in the Middle East, its impact is now being faced by the Philippines, particularly in oil supply and prices.

And amid the continuous soaring of oil prices, the public expresses worry and concern on its impact in the price of basic goods, and other expenses like water and electricity.

In line with this, the Department of Trade and Industry also assured the public that the food and commodities supply remain stable, as well as its prices.

DTI noted that supermarkets have also agreed to retain the prices in the market, and no hoarding or profiteering issues reported so far.

The agency likewise encouraged the public to monitor the prices and report any incident of unauthorized increases.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
