QUALIFIED GOV’T WORKERS MAY NOW RECEIVE MID-YEAR BONUS

Manila, Philippines — Starting today, Friday, May 15, qualified government employees, including military and uniformed personnel, may now receive their Mid-Year Bonus equivalent to one month of their basic salary.

A total of ₱73.45 billion has been released by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for 1.9 million employees of various government agencies across the country.

Employees are eligible for the Mid-Year Bonus if they have rendered at least four months of service from July 1 of the previous year to May 15 of the current year, still in government service, and have obtained a satisfactory performance rating in their most recent evaluation.

Local government employees are also included in the beneficiaries of the bonus.

However, before the funds can be released to provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays personnel, approval from their respective Sanggunian is required.

According to Budget Secretary Rolando Toledo, the early processing of the Mid-Year Bonus is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The funds were also released earlier, coinciding with the start of the fiscal year, and the processing for distribution to eligible personnel now falls under the jurisdiction of their respective agencies.

President Marcos continues to give importance to the sacrifices, dedication, perseverance, and hard work of Filipino workers in various government offices.
