Manila, Philippines — A total of 19 holidays for the year 2027 are included in the list released by Malacañang, covering Regular Holidays, Special Non-Working Holidays, and Special Working Days.
This will serve as a guide for public and government offices, schools, and the private sector to plan ahead for their activities and schedules for the coming year.
The list was issued through Proclamation No. 1427, signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
New Year’s Day, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Araw ng Kagitingan, Labor Day, Independence Day, Bonifacio Day, Christmas Day, and Rizal Day are designated as Regular Holidays.
Meanwhile, Ninoy Aquino Day, All Saints’ Day, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, and the Last Day of the Year are declared Special Non-Working Holidays.
The EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary is designated as a Special Working Day.
Added to the list of Special Non-Working Holidays are Chinese New Year, Black Saturday, All Souls’ Day, and Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, the declaration of Eid’l Adha and Eid’l Fitr as National Holidays is issued separately, as these are Islamic holidays.
The dates of these holidays depend on the Islamic lunar calendar, which is based on Islamic astronomical calculations.
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos will recommend to the Office of the President the exact dates on which these celebrations will be observed.
The proclamation also reminds the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to issue implementing guidelines on how employers should properly compensate their employees based on the holiday that falls on a particular date.
