Manila, Philippines — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has warned the public against an individual allegedly impersonating Kenneth Edward T. Fernando, the OIC-District Engineer of the DPWH Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office, and reportedly soliciting or extorting money.
In a statement, the DPWH reminded the public that the agency does not ask for money in exchange for favors, transactions, or services.
The agency also urged the public not to immediately engage in transactions with anyone claiming to be a DPWH official or employee without first verifying their identity and authority.
Individuals who receive suspicious messages or offers are advised to report them to the appropriate DPWH office.
The DPWH continues to encourage the public to remain vigilant and verify information to avoid falling victim to scams, extortion, or other forms of fraud committed by individuals posing as government personnel.
