The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday, reported that the monitored low pressure area within the Philippine Area of Responsibility became a full Tropical Depression and was named Aghon.
The Pagasa said that based on their monitoring, TD Aghon was last seen this afternoon at 2 o’clock, 135 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur.
Aghon maintains sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 60 kilometers per hour.
On its latest bulletin tropical depression is moving west-northwest at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is raised over 15 areas in the Philippines.

•Albay
•Catanduanes
•Camarines Sur (San Vicente, San Lorenzo Ruiz, Basud, Daet, Talisay, Mercedes)
•Masbate including Ticao Island, Burias Island
In the Visayas:
•Eastern Samar
•Samar
•Northern Samar
•Leyte
•Southern Leyte
•Biliran
•Camotes Island
In Mindanao:
•Dinagat Islands
•Surigao Del Norte including the Siargao-Bucas Grande Group, and Surigao Del Sur
•Agusan del norte
The State Weather Bureau stated that Tropical Depression Aghon might strengthen in the next few days. Tomorrow, Saturday, the tropical depression may develop into a tropical storm.
PAGASA expects Aghon to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday or Tuesday.
