MANILA — The latest episode of “Drag Race Philippines” brought a heartfelt makeover challenge that resonated with viewers, as the queens were joined by their families for a superhero-themed transformation.
In Episode 7, the remaining seven queens were tasked with turning their loved ones into superheroes, leading to emotional and inspiring moments for the audience.
Many were moved by Zymba Ding and her mother’s story, shedding light on their battle against the stigma surrounding leprosy. Similarly, Khianna’s reflections on her past with her parents struck a chord with viewers.
Some light-hearted moments came from Your Tita Baby and Popstar Bench, who delighted fans with their playful makeovers of their partners.
However, the standout of the episode was Maxie, who stunned the judges with an intergalactic-themed transformation with her father, Tatay Bubot.
“This fantasy took us to another level, and Tatay Bubot, all I can say is this is a testament to your love and devotion to Maxie,” praised judge Kaladkaren.
Jiggly Caliente also expressed her appreciation for Tatay Bubot, acknowledging his support for Maxie and Angel, both competing in the show.
“Tatay Bubot, thank you for accepting your children, not allowing them to be mocked or insulted by others. A father’s job is to protect, and you’ve made your children feel safe,” Jiggly said.
Maxie emerged as the episode’s winner, securing her third win and cementing her status as a frontrunner in the competition. Meanwhile, Khianna and Popstar Bench faced off in a lip-sync battle to RuPaul’s “Get Your Rebel On,” with Popstar ending her journey in 7th place.
All episodes of “Drag Race Philippines” and its “Untucked” segment can be streamed on WOW Presents Plus and HBO Go.
The Emmy Award-winning series has long highlighted the talents of Filipino drag queens, both in the US and across international editions.
