Manila, Philippines — Majority of Filipinos still trust and expressed satisfaction on the performance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., OCTA research reported.
Based on the Tugon ng Masa survey for the 1st Quarter of 2025, 60% of Filipinos trust the President, which may represent the majority but is 5 points lower than the November 2024 ratings.
PBBM’s satisfaction ratings also fell to 59%, which is still a large population but 4 points lower than the previous OCTA results.
This decline in Marcos’ trust and approval scores is highly impacted by the drop of ratings from the Mindanao region, which was a territory of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
OCTA noted that this is the lowest trust ratings of PBBM since the 1st Quarter of 2024, while his satisfaction scores continue to decline since July 2024.
Meanwhile, this decline in Marcos’ trust and approval scores significantly marked the rise of Vice President Sara Duterte’s ratings.
Based on the same survey, VP Sara’s trust scores during the 1st Quarter of 2025 climbed to 58%, while her satisfaction ratings rose to 56%.
This is a significant improvement on Duterte’s ratings from the last quarter’s survey, which had 49% and 48% respectively.
