MANILA – Kapamilya artist Darren Espanto experienced an unexpected “plot twist” on his way to Manila, as he was rushed to the hospital for appendicitis.
Espanto took to Instagram Stories to update his fans and followers about the sudden turn of events, sharing a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed.
“From the airport to the hospital. Sabi sa inyo, grabeng plot twist nangyari sa akin eh. Appendicitis suddenly hit during my flight back to Manila. Was supposed to be back on ‘Showtime’ today but emergencies happen talaga. Shoutout to my family and friends who have prayed for me!” Espanto wrote.
He expressed gratitude to his family and friends for their prayers and extended apologies to the producers of shows he was scheduled to participate in over the coming days.
“To the producers of the shows I was supposed to be part of in the next few days, I am so sad to have to cancel so last minute. I hope to work with y’all soon pa rin po! Thank you for understanding!” he added.
In his most recent update, Espanto mentioned that he was on his way to the operating room.
Additionally, Star Magic announced on Instagram that Espanto would not be able to perform at the Tandaya Festival 2024 Samar Day Celebration on Sunday, citing a “health-related emergency” as the reason for the cancellation of his performance at the Samar Provincial Capitol Grounds.
