DELA ROSA ASK FOR LEGALITY P10M FOR QUIBOLOY’S ARREST

MANILA PHILIPPINES – Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa requested clarification from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) regarding legality of the P10 million reward offered for information leading to the arrest Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

In the ongoing public inquiry of the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs related to the alleged excessive force used by the Philippine National Police in the vicinity of the KOJC, Dela Rosa wanted to understand the legal basis for such a reward.

According to DOJ Usec. Nicholas Felix Ty the reward is contained in various aspects, not only the arrest of the pastor but also information about the whereabouts of various accused individuals, including Quibuloy.

It also added that there are specific laws that support the offering of rewards to individuals who
provides information.

These laws include the National Internal Revenue Code, the Customs Modernization Act,
the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and the Anti-Terror Act.

According to DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos that the reward money was offered to them by someone who wanted to help arrest of Quiboloy and other individuals in connection with various criminal cases filed against them.
