Manila Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs releases an official statement regarding North Korea’s ballistic missile launch on Monday.
This is an attempt by the DPRK to launch a second military reconnaissance satellite, but it failed as the rocket ship exploded halfway.
According to the agency, this country’s action increases tensions between the Korean peninsula and the Indo-Pacific Region.
“The Philippines has repeatedly called on the DPRK to also comply with its international obligations and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and to commit to constructive and peaceful dialogue with the Republic of Korea. The Philippines has consistently supported the call for a complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization of the DPRK,” the DFA said in a statement.
Furthermore, this can also be seen as a hindrance to the economic progress, peace, and stability of both regions.
Meanwhile, the DFA repeatedly calls on North Korea to adhere to its international obligations and United Nations Security Council resolutions, including participating in peaceful dialogue with the Republic of Korea.
