Manila, Philippines – Based on the report of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Disaster Response Management, through the Presidential Proclamation No. 1535, series of 2008, declaring that June 15-21 is the commemoration of the Typhoon and Flood Awareness Week.
The theme this 2025 will be titled “Kahandaan sa Bagyo at Baha, Solusyon sa Ligtas na Bayan”.
DSWD highlighted that the theme’s objective is about informing the public about disaster and calamity preparedness.
Consequently, in-line with the country’s rainy situation today (June 18, 2025), the Low Pressure Area (LPA) which entered within the Area of Responsibility (PAR) dissipated at 2AM, however a new bad weather system was forming.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a new LPA on the area within the vicinity of Bolinao, Pangasinan as of 8AM has been spotted.
Although the said LPA does not have a direct impact, rainshowers will disturb some various part of the country.
Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring moderate to heavy rainshowers to Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and other parts of Luzon and Visayas.
The entire Mindanao area will experience bad weather system due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
