DSWD TIES UP WITH GCASH TO INTENSIFY SOCIAL WELFARE

Manila, Philippines – The Department of Social Welfare and Development is set to unite with Globe and Gcash to further enhance social protection in the Philippines.

According to Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson Irene Dumlao, the aim of their collaboration is to make the programs of the agency more accessible and responsive to the needs of Filipinos.

“This collaboration will use tools and platforms from our partners to streamline social protection programs, making them more accessible and responsive to the needs of our beneficiaries,” Asst. Secretary Dumlao.

Asst. Sec. Dumlao added that the DSWD’s collaboration with one of the leading telecommunications firms in the country is aimed at taking advantage of technology in the promotion of various humanitarian initiatives.

Under the partnership, GCash and GXI, Inc. will complement their existing initiatives and digital infrastructures with the DSWD’s programs and services, such as the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program, Paspas Serbisyo, Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), the DSWD Academy, and the Buong Bansa Handa Project, among others.

DSWD’s collaboration with the private sector is also in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s plan. upon reaching the Bagong Pilipinas.
