EASTERLIES, ITCZ, CONTINUES TO BRING RAINSHOWERS AND FLOODS TO VARIOUS PART OF THE COUNTRY

Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported possible rain showers over various parts of the country today due to prevailing weather systems.

The weather bureau stated that numerous areas will continue to experience rain showers brought by the Easterlies and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

In line with that, based on a report by the Panabo City Information Office, due to flood, two families were found stranded in San Nicolas, Panabo, in Davao Del Norte.

The said flashflood was the effect of heavyrains brought by the ITCZ

According to PAGASA, the ITCZ will continuously bring its influence to the Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Surigao Del Sur, Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Meanwhile, the effects of the Easterlies will be particularly felt in Aurora, Quezon Province, Metro Manila, and some areas of Luzon and Visayas.

Additionally, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) is currently being monitored by PAGASA. It was last seen 360 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union.

According to the weather authority, this LPA is unlikely to develop into a storm in the next 24 hours.
