NINE FILIPINO SEAFARERS OF MV ETERNITY C, HELD BY HOUTHI FORCES — DMW

Manila, Philippines – Nine out of the twenty-one Filipino crew members aboard of the Greek ship MV Eternity C are reportedly being held captive by Houthi Forces, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). 

And that, the DMW’s is now prioritizing to safely repatriate the remaining Filipino crew members of the ship that was attacked by the Houthi group in the Red Sea. 

According to DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, the Filipino crew members that are being held captive by the Houthi group in Yemen are in good condition. 

The Filipino Seafarers are also allowed to talk to their families via phone. 

Despite this, the DMW and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) continue to coordinate with mediators for the immediate release of the kidnapped Filipinos. 

Of the 21 Filipino crew members aboard the MV Eternity C, eight have been repatriated, three are reported dead, while one remains missing.
