Manila Philippines — An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who was among seriously injured after a fire broke out in a building in Kuwait City has been released from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
According to the statement of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, one of the two Filipinos who sustained serious injuries due to the incident has been released from ward and accompanied to the accommodation of the department.
“…one who was in ICU then transferred to a hospital ward has been released and is now in company accommodation,” according to Cacdac in a statement.
Another OFW who is still in the ICU showed development in the past few days. So the DMW hopes for his speedy recovery.

“The other OFW who is still in ICU has shown signs of improvement and we hope and pray he is on the road to full recovery,” Cacdac said.
This Monday, the remains of the three OFWs who died in the Al-Mangaf fire in Kuwait have returned home.
The seven OFWs who were among those who sustained injuries in the incident are reportedly on safe condition.
For now, the DMW continues to monitor the OFWs who are staying in the hospital.
The department and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) have already assured financial assistance to the affected OFWs.
