MANILA PHILIPPINES – In relation to the ongoing investigation by the Senate Committee on Public Orders and Dangerous Drugs on the alleged
PDEA Leaks linking President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. House Deputy Speaker and Quezon Rep. David Suarez called this as political circus.
According to Suarez, although they respect the investigation led by Senator Ronald Bato Dela Rosa it would be better if they
only focused on important things.
“First of all, it’s for the Senate hearing, of course we respect the position of the Senate, but to me, if it doesn’t help the country, why are we running out of time and time.
To me, this is a mere political circus. I think this is part of a bigger orchestrated destabilization movement against the
Marcos administration,” Suarez said.
Suarez has told the Senate to shift its focus to urgent national concerns instead of continuing its probe into
alleged leaks of confidential information from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Suarez thinks the particular inquiry is nothing but a waste of time and resources.
PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo has already mentioned that there is no truth to the alleged PDEA leak documents linking the president.
“We have seen that the PDEA has already issued a statement. They have discredited that document, saying that it has no truth. Then the credibility of the witness is questionable. So, to me,if that’s it, it’s not that,” Suarez noted.
In the end, the legislator encouraged his fellow legislators to focus on more important matters such as ammending the Rice Tarrification Law.
