Manila, Philippines — The City Government of Manila is set to distribute P4.9M worth of Petron Fuel Fleet Cards to jeepney drivers who voluntarily joined the city’s ‘Libreng Sakay Program’.
Each Petron Fuel Fleet Card contains P1,000, each beneficiary driver will receive four or a total of P4,000 in fuel support that the drivers can use for their trips.
According to Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, he sincerely thanks the drivers who joined in the midst of the oil crisis.
He said the said fleet cards were given to the Manila LGU by an anonymous individual to directly help jeepney drivers affected by the increase in the price of oil.
Under this, an estimated 1,118 drivers will benefit from the said fleet cards.
It can be recalled that up to 931,831 passengers were served free rides throughout the city of Manila by PUJ drivers.
Almost 1,055 active jeepney drivers participated in the program.
Meanwhile, to ensure that the aid is properly provided to the beneficiaries, the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau will lead the distribution.—Grachella Corazon, Eurotv News
