Manila Philippines – The Philippine government is committed to providing a comprehensive reintegration support for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Japan on their eventual return to the country.
This whole-of-government approach aims to empower OFWs and facilitate their smooth transition back home.
During the meeting, which was attended by approximately 80 leaders from the Filipino Community (FilComm) in Japan, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac made the assurance, emphasizing the comprehensive reintegration services for those OFWs including their families.
“Kahit nandito kayo sa Japan, much appreciated ng Pangulo na iniisip nyo pa rin back home. Gusto naming kayong tulungan sa journey na ‘yan. Tutulungan namin kayo with our comprehensive reintegration support for productive and sustainable reintegration back with your families.” Cacdac said.
Cacdac underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting OFWs in Japan, extending beyond the workers themselves to their families.
The comprehensive reintegration support aims to facilitate a smooth transition back to the Philippines, demonstrating the government’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of OFWs and their loved ones.
The Secretary also reaffirmed the government’s comprehensive support for OFWs, encompassing not only reintegration assistance but also welfare and protection through enhanced bilateral partnerships, rights-based assistance via the DMW AKSYON Fund, and ongoing improvements to OFW services and digital systems.
“We are here to personally assure you of the government’s full support as directed by our President. Rest assured that the DMW will continue to support you in all the stages of your overseas employment. Ang DMW ang tahanan niyo sa pamahalaan na inyong sandigan,” the secretary added.
