The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) announced on Saturday that their officers would remain at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound until Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is located and arrested.
“Nandyan ‘yan, tinatago lang nila. Hindi kami aalis dito habang hindi namin siya nakukuha o ang kaniyang mga kasamahan,” stated PRO 11 Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III during a media briefing.
(They’re there, they are just being hidden. We will not leave until we get him or his companions.)
Torre emphasized that the public should recognize the gravity of the no-bail arrest warrant issued against Quiboloy and his four associates.
“Ito ay isang warrant of arest na ini-implement namin laban sa tao na yan na may kasong karumaldumal, human trafficking, child abuse,” he asserted.
(This is an arrest warrant that we are implementing against that person who faces loathsome cases – human trafficking, child abuse.)
According to reports, authorities have only managed to search about 30% of the compound as of 1 p.m. Torre mentioned that apprehending Quiboloy has been challenging, suggesting that he might be attempting to evade capture.
Police also reported seeing rooms designated for children within the compound and the names of young girls.
“Halos di kami makagalaw sa loob ang daming tao na gustong makipagdebate. Hindi ito ang lugar para magdebate kami kung tama o mali ang warrant at wala kaming personalidad na magdebate kung guilty o not guilty si Apollo Quiboloy. Ang trabaho namin ay iimplement ang warrant na ito,” Torre highlighted.
(We could hardly move at the compound with so many people wanting to argue with us. This is not the place for us to debate whether the warrant is right or wrong, and we are not the ones to debate whether Apollo Quiboloy is guilty or not guilty. Our job is to implement this warrant.)
Meanwhile, a report from Super Radyo dzBB indicated that a member of KOJC suffered a fatal heart attack while the police were conducting their search of the compound.
The PRO 11 units, with additional support from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Civil Disturbance Management unit, have been stationed at the compound since early morning to serve the arrest warrant. The operation began at approximately 5:27 a.m.
Torre further revealed that the KOJC compound contains 42 buildings, including one that spans five hectares.
