SEC. DIZON INSPECTS ROADSLIP ALONG MARCOS HIGHWAY IN TUBA, BENGUET

Benguet, Philippines — Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon personally inspected the roadslip along Marcos Highway in Barangay Taloy Sur, Tuba, following the collapse of a portion of the highway caused by Super Typhoon “Nando” in September 2025.

Residents and motorists earlier reported the inconvenience and safety risks brought by the damaged road section, particularly affecting travelers heading to Baguio City and other parts of the Cordillera region.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the President has ordered the immediate repair of the affected highway section to ensure motorists’ safety and prevent further disruption in transportation flow.

The DPWH also said that repair and rehabilitation works are continuing on other roadslip areas along Marcos Highway as part of efforts to restore the major route connecting Benguet, La Union, and other Cordillera provinces to Baguio City.

The department assured the public that continuous monitoring and engineering interventions are being carried out to maintain the safety and stability of the highway.
