TRUCK BAN SUSPENDED IN CEBU TO ALLOW TRANSPORT OF RELEIF SUPPLIES

Cebu, Philippines – The Provincial Government of Cebu temporarily lifted the truck ban on their provincial and national highways, to allow the faster transport of trucks carrying relief goods to areas affected by the Magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck the province.

Under an Executive Order No. 58, Series of 2025, signed by Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro, the truck ban is suspended while the entire province remains under a State of Calamity.

According to the Governor, this move aims to allow trucks to pass freely through major roads in Cebu without violating any rules.

At present, Cebu is receiving various forms of assistance from nearby provinces, the national government, and private sectors, including relief goods, construction materials, and other essential needs for the residents.

Governor Baricuatro also urged all local government units (LGUs) in Cebu to implement the same policy within their respective jurisdictions.

It can be recalled that the truck ban on major roads in the province has been enforced in Cebu for several years.
